Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC)


MCRC is a not-for-profit, multi-service agency that provides a variety of children’s programs.

Full-time child care spaces are offered at our licensed Child Care Centres. A Reggio Emilia approach to early learning for children ages 18 months to 5 years of age is supported through the emergent curriculum.  

Bruce Trail Early Learning and Child Care Centre – 1199 Costigan Ave, Milton

Before and After School Child Care

Dynamic school age programs are provided for children, Junior Kindergarten to 12 years of age, at the following locations:

  • Bronte Street School – 410 Bronte St. South, Milton
  • Bruce Trail Public School -– 1199 Costigan Ave., Milton
  • Campbellville Lions Hall for Brookville Public School students
  • Chris Hadfield Public School – 1114 Woodward Ave, Milton
  • Hawthorne Village Public School – 850 Bennett Blvd, Milton
  • PL Robertson Public School  – 840 Scott Blvd., Milton
  • Tiger Jeet Singh Public School  – 640 Yates Drive, Milton
  • CHERISH Private Home Child Care

CHERISH Private Home Child Care

This program is licensed by the Ministry of Community, and Social Services.  Each provider can have a maximum of five children including their own children under six. Of those five children only two can be under two, or three under three.  Each home is visited by a qualified E.C.E., once a month, unannounced.  

Child Care Directory and Information Line is an information line that is offered through THRC. Parents are given information on the various child care options available and tips on how to choose quality care. 

Family Resource Programs – 410 Bronte St S, Milton                                                              

A variety of programs are offered for parents and their children birth to 6 years of age. Busy Fingers, Messing Around and Cooking Up a Story are just a few of the fee based programs we offer.

Nursery School

We offer licensed Nursery School programs at 2 locations:

  • 410 Bronte St. South, Milton:  Mon/Wed/Fri mornings, Tues/Thurs mornings, Mon/Wed afternoons and Tues/Thurs afternoons.   Each program accommodates 16 children, who are 2 ½ - 5 years old. 
  • Campbellville Lions Hall - a licensed morning program in Campbellville for children who are ages 2 ½ - 5 years old.

 

Ontario Early Years Centre                                                                                                                                                                                                

We offer support and resources to assist parents and caregivers in their roles, as well as, provide early learning experiences for children from birth to 6 years of age.  Early Years programs are for parents/caregivers and their children newborn to 6 years.  Programs include both drop-in and registered programs.   Fees are not charged for Ontario Early Years programs. 

PA Day and School Break  Camps                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Licensed and subsidized programs are available for JK/SK children and children in grade 1 – 6. 

We provide a stimulating environment for children ages 5 – 12 years of age.  Special events, guest appearances and club activities provide children with a stimulating and thought provoking environment. 

Friday Night Youth Dances – Milton Leisure Centre

Dances are for children in Grades 5 through 8 and are held as a fundraising activity for MCRC.  Proceeds go towards offering low cost programs to children and families in Milton.  All dances are chaperoned by staff and parent volunteers. 

Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a not-for profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities.  Through our Ontario Early Years Centre and our Family Resource programs we provide early learning programs for children, their parents and caregivers at minimal or not cost to participants.  MCRC's parent resource library offers a variety of resources and workshops including access to our parent educators. Through our Licensed Child Care programs, MCRC provides quality early learning and care at an affordable cost and subsidy is available for eligible families.  Collaboratively with Halton Region Children Services, MCRC operates The Halton Resource Connection, which provides training, support and resources to parents, caregivers, individuals and organizations working with children and youth.
